These guys (and Carrville) are smarter than the people who ran the last Democrat presidential campaign.

Some interesting comments in there...Drop the latinx silliness. Distance the party rhetoric from the gender stuff or as the guy says, have you ever been to a backyard barbecue and somebody said the word cis-gender?

It's all fair enough. Carville is not showing any great insight, just common sense, the likes of which you can hear from Matt Yglesias or Ezra Klein. But take a look at reddit and witness the swaths of online leftists who consider all of them heathens. If those online leftists don't represent important powers that still hold sway over the mainstream Democrat party, then they sure do a good imitation of what such people would sound like. It will always be simple fact that the Harris campaign intentionally chose not to distance itself from any of that. They didn't make the crazy a part of their platform in the campaign, that is true, but they also didn't push back or distance from any of it. They are scared of backlash from the religious part of their coalition. We'll see if that ever changes, but I know something that hasn't changed, and that's the hair trigger of those religious people.

This does not need to be the face of the Democrat Party...

Yes, the democrats that were in power were really out of touch with people.

Heard an interview not too long ago (can't remember who it was with), but the guy said something like: "There is no way we were going to win the election or get the vote of Jon Doe, who is working 50+ hours a week and just making enough to survive, by telling him he is privileged because he is white."

You can frame the lunatic fringe progressive ideas as the culprit in their loss in 2024 in any number of true ways. Not least that Kamala, a very weak candidate, would not have sniffed the nomination if she hadn't been lifted up out of the undistinguished masses of Dem politicians solely due to her gender and skin color.
