Trump says the USA will takeover Gaza

Bolton would not be my go-to on things Trump.
On the contrary, John Bolton along with James Mattis, John Kelly, H. R. McMaster and even, Rex Tillerson ought to be the first order of go-to‘s on things Trump. Especially with regard to security, defence and foreign policy.
TG knows that and so do you.

According to a report from Defence Security Asia, Israel proposed that a significant portion of Egypt's $100B foreign debt through the World Bank be forgiven if Egypt allowed the entry of Palestinian residents from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing.
However, the Egyptian government has consistently rejected such proposals, expressing concerns over national security and the potential for forced displacement of Palestinians. Egyptian officials have emphasized their refusal to allow the forced expulsion of Palestinian residents from their homeland, citing the potential impact on regional stability.
That proposal floated back when things were just getting messy post October 7. I don't think Egypt's enthusiasm has waned in the months since.

Speaking of John Bolton:
Trump's former national security adviser, John Bolton, tells the BBC that the president's proposal to redevelop Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East" is "just isn't going to happen".
He says the US role in such a plan would have to be between "slim and none" because "you can't put Americans in that kind of security environment without military protection and that just isn't going to happen".
But he does suggest Palestinians in Gaza be offered resettlement.
"Rebuilding a high-rise refugee camp is not an answer," he says, suggesting instead the possibility of "some kind of resettlement which would not be forcible but which would be consistent with international refugee doctrine".

The "flavor of the day" seems to be bashing USAID.
How many people here know what they do and how they operate?
(BTW, their budget is about USD$40BB a year. US Budget for the year is USD%6.1 trillion.)
I know, up close and personal. 15% Good, 85% Absolutely Criminal.
The USAID pause and reconfiguration is probably my 2nd favorite thing he’s done so far:

My mortgage costs me $36,000 per year, so I shouldn’t worry about $10 eggs?

I seem to recall hearing the Abraham Accords weren’t going to happen. They did. The US owning Gaza isn’t happening. The US rebuilding and administering Gaza for 20 years? And getting temporary refugee settlements during rebuilding? That’s a different question.

Remember when USAID tried to overthrow Cuba with a social media platform? Good times…

Yes and all this turning Gaza into an exclusive US development property and forcibly relocating its refugee population in some other Arab country’s desert oasis, is not only undermining the existing Accords but any hope for future expansion of the Accords in the region.
That would be a foreign policy failure.

Yes, and Bolton said as much. However what Trump is presently going on about suggests there’s nothing temporary about the resettlement of refugees.
It’s as if he wants to go back the interwar period of Mandates but without the expense having to deploy troops or the inconvenience of any local WOG inhabitants around who might get in the way or go all out religious and stark raving tribal fanatic.
Didn’t work very well first time around. Not likely to work this time either.
- yes I know it’s a politically incorrect racist slur. I assure everyone that it was quite intentional for the sake of emphasis and more than just a spoonful of sarcasm.
