Some folks at the FBI are worried about their jobs...

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/agents-started-pack-desks-fear-fbi-mass-firings-swirls-rcna190342

I think some should be. I think the FBI has forgotten what its mission is and has become a political weapon.

I do believe Patel will bring back some integrity to the agency. And I believe Patel clashing with Trump is inevitable, but it will be for the overall good.

But what did perk my ears, was the mention of "thousands" of agents. In a time when we have rampant industrial espionage, a river of fentanyl pouring into the country and cartels trafficking thousands of people into the country for illegal purposes, the FBI decided to commit those types of resources to investigate and catch rioters?

I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with how some of the J6ers were treated. I have a lifelong friend who was there. Thank God he wasn't charged.

Resources are finite. After the initial investigation and appropriate charges for those who injured people or who destroyed property, the FBI should have taken that detail down to nothing.

You know the "thousands" number was made up by... Trump. Right?

Imagine if Biden asked the FBI to fire anyone involved in investigating Hunter Biden. Political retribution against people who were doing their job should concern you, but I suppose the horse is already dead.

            • and Soros employees took control of government payment systems

            • he alone controlled which funds would be spent, zeroing out, say, private prisons and faith-based orgs.

I’m guessing there’d be some questions as to constitutionality from the Trump cheering section.

                    BTW, the horse never existed.

There is no doubt in my mind or millions of other Americans, that the FBI went from law enforcement to selective persecution.

If you don't believe that, look at the last POTUS election results.

One of the "shiny" objects the Right keeps repeating over and over. That dangerous fentanyl that is overwhelming all of us gives border control more purpose. The fact that this fentanyl only shortens the lives of those who are already currently shortening their lifespans (drug addicts) should actually give peace to the Right. What do they care about people hell bent on destroying their lives?

My mistake, I misread the sentence in the article, I thought the pronoun was referring to Trump.

Not to make fun of the situation, but I remember seeing a white paper about the China Tobacco Monopoly. As you may be aware. the % of people who smoke in China is quite high, and there is not as much anti-smoking trends there.

One of the reasons given is that because tobacco is a state monopoly there, there are huge profits for the state made from tobacco sales, and supposedly, the government figures that health costs are ultimately reduced because smokers die early.

Of course, with the population decrease that china is experiencing, there may be a turnaround in this thinking.

It’s a major blind spot of both right and left. When their guy is in office they are largely supportive of increased executive authority forgetting that someday the other side will hold the office.
