I think I heard some explanation of that from somebody, can't remember who. Might have been from Trump himself. The individuals targeted, according to this person, were supposed to be temporary hires to help with the massive caseload of the Jan 6 prosecutions. Then Biden made them all permanent as part of his flurry of activity in his last days. Trump wants to undo that.

The persecution of Trump was unprecedented. His election brings to mind an old saying, "Becareful of the ass you kick, because you may have to kiss it tomorrow ".
The first time Trump was elected, he tried to play politics, and was subsequently schooled in multiple areas. The second time Trump was elected, he's approaching it like a CEO in a hostile takeover.

Well, let’s reframe this a bit. Their job is to keep criminals off the street and the one they were assigned was recently seen waddling up Pennsylvania Avenue. So they rather failed at their assigned duties.

None of the people around here who admire Democrats said a word about Pelosi's use of power to reward and destroy political careers. They applauded the results of the naked use of power.

Ha, good point. If we play the "what if" game, had he not won the election, odds are he'd owe like a billion dollars in fines and would be sitting in prison with a rack of felonies around his neck. As always, flip the coin and imagine if Obama came back into office and started firing people who were doing their job and/or were not loyal to him? Folks here would be calling him Obama the Fascist.
