At a local sporting goods store a few days ago, a parish deputy was working an off-duty detail (store security) when he tried to stop an alleged shoplifter just before store closing.
The arrest became violent and the deputy shot the alleged shoplifter one time. The person died later at a local hospital.
Don't shoplift.
