My mother passed away this morning.
Survived by her six children, brother and many more extended family members, she assumed the role of Matriarch when her mother died at age 102.
She just celebrated her 89th birthday.
Mom survived cervical cancer which was diagnosed in her 50s. The treatment, while saving her life, and giving her almost 40 years of life extension, had long term side effects that really started to rob her quality of life especially during the past 10 years. It was ultimately her undoing.
She was a good hearted, good natured human who always had time for anyone. She had no addictions, never a smoker or a drinker.
I will miss her terribly.
Rest in Peace Mom. You were the best mother anyone could hope to have.

Condolences on your loss. She sounds like one of The Good People.

I'm sorry Mark. It's a tough thing to deal with, but it sounds as though she lived a good life.

I’m sorry Mark.
When my mother passed away, a former poster said to me: ‘When your mother dies, it’s like the universe changes. You adjust, but you never really get used to it.’

Ah shit, I'm sorry, Mark. I'm really glad you had such a good relationship with her; that's a wonderful gift.
