Well, actually the discussion on whether states can add age verification to go to sites that have sexually oriented content.

I have no problem with age verification. I suspect SCOTUS doesn't, either.

The problem I see is one of anonymity. Do you really trust PornHub to keep your private information safe and private?

I suppose it could be like any other website, like Walmart or Amazon, but still...

In the case of PornHub, I don't care if states require a thumbprint.

Yeah, the proliferation of porn is concerning. I see no issue with age verification.

Porn, in it's current easily accessible and ubiquitous form, is probably worse for the citizenry than alcohol or cigarettes. Yet, we have no problem with age verification for those vices.

Yeah I remember as an 8 year old thinking it was so risqué that I found how to type in the MS-DOS c prompt “nude.exe” and it rendered a dot matrix picture of a naked woman. Now a kid just has to Google their favorite phrase.

And I have no problem if the privacy issues kill the industry.

                    Works for me.

                    1. Porn preys upon women, particularly those who can least psychologically handle the consequences of doing porn. It pushes women into sex acts they would not normally do or sometimes are physically damaging.
                    2. It has a huge detrimental effect upon consumers, particularly men. Men increasingly objectify women and have warped expectations of sex and sex acts.
                    3. Consumption of porn by minors leads to increased drug and alcohol consumption, acting out and violent behavior, earlier participation in sex acts and a decreased ability for some to say "No".

With AI, we are on the threshold of infinite porn. One could ask for a nude photo or video of anyone living or dead or completely made up doing whatever one desires- and that image or video will be produced, It should destroy or reduce Only Fans and much of the porn industry.

I really didn’t need the imagery of Ketanji “taking up porn” to pop into my head. Thanks a helluva lot.
