    We collect a whole lot more information in healthcare. I’m not entirely sure the vast majority of it serves to make it better, but all the patient facing docs are spending more time feeding the EHR than tending patients.

    Wholly agree on the Bracero program.

              These guys couldn’t even make it to the inauguration. I like it though - it’s fun. It’s a real policy discussion, just done in WWE style.

                A real critique of the abuses of the H1B system (which I’m generally a supporter of). Nevertheless this deserves attention.

                  I haven’t really examined the chart, but I can imagine all the unanticipated outcomes that have occurred. Still, a smart immigration policy would be welcome.

                    Dang ... Bannon characterizes Musk with the term "running dog [for the CCP]" ... that's particularly damning when mentioned in the context of cozying up to the CCP. It's at the same level as accusing a Jew of working for the Nazi.

                      @Axtremus

                      Not exactly, it was an epithet more commonly used by Stalinist prosecutors and judges in show trials against alleged Trotskyists in the 1930s. Likewise the term “enemy of the people” Trump sometimes has used originated similarly during the Great Terror.

                        With the CCP in context, the term "running dog" can be a literal translation of the term 「走狗」, the usage of which predates Marx by a century, commonly used in Chinese literature to label those working for evil powers to oppress their own people.

                          Possible then that the Bolsheviks appropriated it from the Chinese. Would come as no surprise.

                            My experience with H1B hires is all about cheap labor.

                            The talk about talent is nonsense.

                                Not sure what is nonsensical about talk about talent, but certainly talent at a discount is what H1Bs are about.
