I have a iPad pro, 12.9" that is the 2021 model. Nice machine.

The last couple of days, when I plug it in to charge, it won't charge. I have tried plugging into various charging bricks, including plugging into the back of my computer. I've tried various cables, all with no joy.

If I plug in my phone, however, it charges fine using any cable and any power brick.

I took a drive to the Apple store and explained, and they checked it out. They found no problem with it. Charged fine with their stuff.

I tried using a genuine Apple power brick and a genuine Apple USB-C cable when I got home, no joy.

I'm going to list it on eBay "for parts only", but I don't understand why it charged at the Apple store and not at home.

    Any ideas?

That's weird. Hold off on disposing of it. If you're around on Monday - let's get together and try some of my blocks/cords and see if we have success. The only thing I can think of is that the C input is perhaps finicky. I've had that happen with a computer. You wiggle it correctly - and it charges - sometimes. It might need replacement.

I know. I tried all that.

In anticipation of having trouble with it, I got a replacement. I took it out of the box and used the new cord and new brick. New device started charging. Old device would not.

I"m not going to mess with it. It's up for sale on eBay.

Last thing I need is a "finicky" cable.

Yes, I've had similar issues, usually having to do with the cord. I wouldn't dump it yet.

See post above. Not gonna mess with it.

BTW, what kind of memory do you get with your 12.9? I have the smaller pro with a T of memory - but if I move up to the 12.9, is that overkill? I do have a lot of images - but also employ the Apple cloud.

I have 256. More than meets my needs. I offload some movies, but don't keep them after I've watched.

Sold it on eBay for $318.

I hope the buyer read the description:

Yeah, I'm shocked. I started the auction at $100, figuring I might get $150.

That said, I hope the buyer understands the condition of the item. I hope I was explicit enough in the descriptions.

Several years ago, I sold an iMac. Buyer left positive feedback, saying it was exactly as described. Two weeks later he wanted to return because it would not boot - claimed "My tech said the motherboard is shot."

I disputed the refund claim, and eBay backed me up because of the positive feedback.

I’ll let you know as soon as I receive it. Horace promised me a sweet deal on an Apple Smart Keyboard.
