UnitedHealthcare CEO fatally shot
-
The CEO of UnitedHealth was fatally shot in the chest Wednesday morning outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown in what police say was a targeted attack.
Brian Thompson, 50, was at the hotel at around 6:46 a.m. when a masked man fired at the CEO and fled eastbound on 6th Avenue, police sources told The Post.
Thomas was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

According to the comments, this is not possible
-
You could the cross the street west to east.
-
But yeah it’s one way northbound
-
I stayed in that hotel before and worked just next to it.
-
I had an office for a few months at 1221 Avenue of the Americas (McGraw Hill) in 1988 - 4 blocks south. I probably crossed 6th Ave west to east.
-
He is based out of Minnetonka... just down the road from me. Anyway, what a shame.
-
Sounds personal.
-
Either personal or domestic terrorism.
-
That is sad. I agree with the first of Jon's comments. I think it was somebody who either they, or a family member, was denied insurance coverage for some condition and the person died or got sicker.
-
That’s the scenario I would label as domestic terrorism.
Personal to me would be like the guy whose wife he’s banging.
-
@jon-nyc Ah okay! Thanks for the clarification.
-
I'll guess insurance related. UHC is predatory in many ways.
-
They paid about a million dollars for my transplant so I can’t complain.

Ok, you're off the suspect list.

Yeah but what about fake-Jon? Amirite @Horace
-
Though full disclosure they’re pushing back on an expensive treatment for my PKD*, but I should get by it on appeal and getting them some more data.
*Not polycystic kidney disease, but Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency. Yes, I collect obscure genetic enzyme deficiencies. Everybody needs a hobby.

I won't rest until this is solved.
