eBay question

Just sold my son’s gaming laptop.

After the buyer paid, which included $10 or so for shipping, assuming USPS, he asked me if I could use fedex or ups.

I have no problem personally doing that, but will eBay complicate that? For example if I don’t use their site to purchase a shipping label, will they keep my shipping money? Will they not mark it as shipped? Or anything like that?

Maybe it's a gift because FedEx lets you pick another place for it to be delivered if you want to keep it's delivery hidden, such as Walgreens. You could always ask him why.
