If I read that pardon correctly, the entire Ukrainian grift is pardoned as well. So he pardoned himself as well.

Probably not a bad idea. But the claim that Hunter was singled out only because he is my son and not admitting that Trump was similarly singled out is galling hypocrisy.

But if you want perfect comparison, neither Uday nor Qusay Trump were convicted of anything (yet) so he didn’t even have the opportunity.

They weren't convicted, let alone indicted. So, it's far from a "perfect comparison."

      The various war criminals?

You're talking about Obama, who ordered an extra-judical assassination of a US citizen? He wasn't indicted or convicted either.

No, Obama didn't pardon any war criminals to my knowledge. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, which is certainly possible. The last days of the Obama administration are a bit of a blur, as most of the news coverage at the time was about Trump's incoming administration.

I'm referring to Trump's pardoning of Eddie Gallagher, Clint Lawrence, Mathew Goldstein, and four Blackwater mercenaries, all of which murdered civilians. The soldiers were convicted by military courts and the Blackwater mercenaries were charged and convicted by GWB's DoJ.

I was referring to Obama not having been convicted of extra-judicial killings and not having been convicted. Of course, now he's immune to prosecution since he was POTUS at the time.

President-Elect Trump also pardoned Jared's dad.

Regarding Jim Jordan's comment, implicit in it is obvious that Hunter committed crimes while Joe was in office. And, there are documents to support that on his spectacular laptop. Joe was implicated in at least one of those crimes. But Joe's gone in about 60 days, so who cares any more?

        That should have been obvious.

        Saw this.

Remember, when Republicans screw up, it's the story.
When Democrats screw up, Republicans' reactions is the story.

The hot rumor...Hunter informed his dad about a month ago he was writing a tell-all book (casting Hunter in the best light, of course), and the book would implicate the Big Guy and other family members.

And that is the source of the outrage. Clinton, Bush, Obama, and yes, President-Elect Trump , never made statements that they would (or would not) pardon someone.

POTATUS repeated it many times that he would not.

"No one is above the law!" he preened, while showing us that, indeed, his son is.

What's the best guess that Biden will pre-emptively pardon his brother, Jim?

Again, we as a nation have come to expect and accept this type of behavior from politicians. Until we decide not to anymore it will worsen.

Funny that Biden is framing it as a political persecution.

                    The precedent is set.

                        Biden legitimized it.

He should never have made all those prior comments denying he'd ever do it, but there you go, this is pretty much standard lying practice.

The whole process is just begging to get abused.

For all intents and purposes, I seem to think that Al-Awlaki had already de facto renounced his US citizenship and declared war against the US via his terrorist acts against American assets and citizens. He was, in fact, quite proud of his terrorist actions and made no attempt to conceal his compliance in their execution. He was most vile and Obama rightly signed off on having him whacked with extreme prejudice. His progeny was merely collateral damage. Good riddance to the lot of them.

Obama did what any good head of state would have done under the circumstances.

                                      Elbows up!
