What’s your over/under on when he suggests he should get a third term?

Interesting question. He may even bring it up before inauguration.
How long did it take Bloomberg before he brought up serving a third term as NYC Mayor?

He can suggest anything but it won’t happen. I doubt he suggests it.

The process would be a constitutional amendment. Once constitutional amendments are on the table, almost anything is possible, for any president. It's always been that way, and it'll always be that way.

If the amendment did happen, Mr. Obama would be the next president.
Be careful what you wish for.

Ain't gonna be no such amendment.
Utterings from the TDS Swamp without a shred of common sense.

Besides, the message from the future tells us that Trump does and Vance takes over when he’s 39 years old. That means DJT must die…(checks the calendar) at least 7 months ago…

Why didn't he suggest that last time?

He still had a second term to look forward to. But he did once suggest he was owed 2 more years in his first term due to the Russia investigation.

That's reasonable.

Did anyone have 3 days on their bingo card?
I didn’t make a guess, but had I done so it would have been around midterms. Trump is already outperforming my expectations.

Trump doesn't like to lose, but if the rule says he has to retire in 2028 when he's 82 I don't think he'll mind stepping aside and letting his protégé (Vance) take over in 2028. That would be a good GOP legacy, and it doesn't involve him risk losing.
To your original point @LuFins-Dad I think that is a good analysis. He was certainly caught off guard in 2016 when he won, but now he knows how the Swamp works.

I think the better reason why Trump won't try to run for a third term, is that he'd need to amend the constitution to do so.

Call me a n00b but I always thought it was a limit of two terms consecutively... I didn't realize it was a total of only two terms.

“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,” 22nd Amendment.
