Once could be a coincidence, but twice?

Finley’s been “talking” for two months, but it's just been learning to make the the sounds. Twice this week, though, he’s said DaDaDaDa while reaching for me. I’m calling it!
Of course, he’s also said DaDa a number of times and followed up by barking like a dog...

I think he's telling you you're in the dog house. Smart kid!

This reminds me, my daughter's first word was "quack" (rubber ducky in the bath, etc) but before that she would say "dada" all the time! However, I never counted it as the first word since she said "dada" to everyone and everything.
We’ve heard dadadadadada and mamamamama for weeks, but just him learning to make sounds. Think this was different, even Karla agreed.

My kid said DaDa and just Dad too.
He would say it to everyone, but I took that to mean ‘hey you, go get my Dad’

You sort of just know when it's intentional. Like LFD said, the baby was saying "dadadadada", but then he started saying "Dadadadadada". My eldest's first word was "Okay", but honestly can't remember what my second child's first word was.

@LuFins-Dad Maybe you cut him off before he could finish saying, "Dadadadadadadada...BATMAN!"
