My predictions are worth dog shit these days, but........... why am I getting a bad feeling that not only with this election be ridiculously close, but so close that automatic state recounts might actually change a state or two's results that could sway the electoral winner? What if SCOTUS has to get involved?
Good thing I'll be at Disney and then the beach that week. (Didn't plan it that way... booked the trip a while ago, not thinking about election day).

I’m starting to get concerned about the worst possible outcome. The polls are as off on Trump as they were the past two elections. Trump wins easy, with over 50% of the popular vote.m, and not only sweeps the battleground states, but picks off 1-2 that lean Dem like Maine, New Mexico, or VA. Republicans maintain the House, and wind up around 53-54 in the Senate. It’s obvious enough that there is no waiting for days for Maricopa to count.
If that happens (and that is increasingly likely) Trump walks out of November with a pretty legitimate mandate.
That’s scary.

Fear not.
Mike Johnson is a level-headed guy and I don't think the Senate will do everything he wants.
So, what will you see?
- RFK gets a bone and the CDC gets overhauled.
- Judges
- Selected tariffs
- The Ukraine War ends
- The Elon Musk Commission and a possible realignment of departments and personnel
- The Southern Border tightens up. Illegals with criminal records are deported. I don't think you'll see blanket amnesty for the rest, but I do think you see some type of legal accommodation.
- Iran gets the screws put to them
- I think there are going to be some much needed, YUGE reforms in the Justice Department
If you get that in the first two years, that's a full plate. I suspect after two years, the GOP will lose the House.

And note it’s hand counted, it’s not about technology…

The ID thing probably makes it easier. Fewer people needed at the check in allows more workers on the back end.
By the way, every mail in or early voting ballot should be tabulated in advance and ready to report the minute the polls close.

When I vote, I first hand my ID to a poll worker. He calls my name out to another poll worker manning a signature book. I sign my name and use a machine to vote. I would prefer paper, but we haven't had any problems since Katrina flooded New Orleans.
The process is very quick and easy
