                Didn't we have an article recently discussed about how US colleges were getting very "One Dimensional"? I agree that people should not be so focused on one skill to the exclusion of other ones.

                  This book argues something similar. Lots of examples of successful polymaths (and argues that successful people tend to be multi-faceted).

                                  That's not an issue where statistics is applicable. Sometimes an analytical argument is the best you can get.
