Beato and Rubin

I know what you’re thinking. You don’t want to watch this interview because you think only two hours twelve minutes isn’t enough time to delve as deeply as you would want. You’re afraid you will be left feeling empty and cheated. I would just encourage you to take the few moments to listen to it anyway.

Brilliant interview. Rick is great. I was playing Punk in NYC a bit before Rubin. He never mentioned the Mud Club or OMFUG. I'm pretty sure I never met him. But I'm sure he did't look like my great grandfather at the time either. Otherwise--He hears stuff in bands I don't. Rubin shined a light on Johnny Cash's genius that make Johnny look way more brilliant than he ever was before.
He saw something in Tom Petty I never understood, same with Soundgarden. Same with a lot of other people. I guess that's why Rick Rubin is one of the world's greatest producers and I'm sitting here on my sofa. -

Pfffft I'll be watching it a couple of times I'm sure.

Just started - might be interesting.
Two questions:
- Why is all the furniture covered with white sheets?
Recording weirdness, my guess.
- Why no shoes, Rick?
Because he never wears any and when he does, they're sandals he takes off.
