Yawn, SpaceX launches Polaris Dawn mission

And lands 1st stage on drone ship - again.

Isn't this part of a space walk? And the farthest humans have gone since Apollo? No big deal... just launches, with humans, and reusable rockets.

First ever private space walk.

Yup. I believe Gemini 11 went higher, though.

...that work.
Yawn.

Damn, I wish they were publicly traded. Do they have any vendors/suppliers that will ride or die with SpaceX?

Wow great video. Obviously fast forwarded through most of it (although some earlier parts were interesting, such as their ride/walk to the rocket), but when the Dragon Deploy happens (5:57?) and you suddenly see the earth and a perfectly timed dawn (sunrise), it's incredible. Kudos to how simple they make all of this look, too.

The view of the launch from here - 600 miles north of the Cape

Live space walk:
Go to 2:12:50.

Was the purpose of this just to prove, "Yeah, we can do it with our new nifty space suits."?

I think so. LOL. But it was "proof of principle"

And the ultimate tourism for rich people.

That was cool to see. Of course, I'm hoping next time they'll put on those jet packs and truly do a space walk without any tethers. That's the good stuff. Also, feel bad for the chick... she had go to go up when they were on the dark side of the earth, although who knows, maybe she could see a billion stars and city lights.
Also I like how they called the hatch location where they stood, the "skywalker".
