BTW I've been scouring the internet to find actual immigration statistics for Charleroi. A 2,000% increase could just mean they had 1 immigrant, and now they have 20, LOL.
All I can find are people repeating the 2,000% increase line, without any references.
100 to 2000. And more importantly, now there are 6000 living in a town built for 4000, and 1/3 speak no or little English or read English. But they are all getting driver’s licenses!
I don’t doubt you, but where is the actual data? Just curious.

I will point out that in 2020, Charleroi had a noted feral cat problem that seems to have been resolved in recent years…

And this is how the rumor got started ...

All this reminds me of a window sticker I saw on a truck yesterday. Classy!
Wow, he’s eating that pussy like a Haitian!

The possible reason the story continues to stick to the wall:
The glee with which influencers pounced on the kitten story highlights a curious feature of Russian propaganda and disinformation: its fascination with race and immigration.
It's obvious why Russia would want to spread negative stories about Ukraine, or positive stories about Putin. It's less obvious why it would want to spread stories about Haitian migrants hunting cats.
But race and immigration are constant themes running through the background documents gathered during the FBI's investigation of Russian state broadcaster RT's alleged scheme to pay an American firm $10 million to, in the words of the U.S. Department of Justice, create and distribute content to U.S. audiences with hidden Russian government messaging.

Well, nobody’s going to be talking about cats tomorrow. A 1-year-old in Charleroi just got hit by a car. In his yard.

By a Haitian?

Not corroborated yet, but Haitians were on hand.

OTOH, I see where the town just lost 300+ jobs due to a glass plant closing.
Corning/Corelle/World Kitchen/Anchor Hawking. My whole family is tied into that place like you wouldn’t believe. My Great Aunt was the first President of the Union. My grandfather was President of the Union for 10 years. My uncle for 20. My dad worked there for 40 years. My other uncle was Assistant Plant Manager. Most of my cousins worked there…
300 is a shell of what it used to be.
