It’s really not difficult to believe that trump is psychologically incapable of believing he lost. Yet another reason why “sincerity” is not that meaningful. It is not remotely uncommon for people to be sincerely detached from reality.

Trump absolutely knows he lost. He knew it then and he knows it now. But he also knew he can spin the heck out of a story until it becomes true…ironic as the main proponent of calling out “fake news”.
There is reputation to be saved, money to be made, and a chance that his obsession with ratings, crowd sizes, and election results might result in a legal win, which never came. But the sheep followed until they made the realization face Jon pointed out above.
