D4 and I were talking on the way back home from the surgeon's this PM (she's fine, all is good)...

She wants to do a purge of her house/apartment. She has SO MUCH CRAP to throw out, so she was asking about renting a dumpster or other large-ish container for a while.

Suggestions? Doesn't Home Depot offer some kind of huge bag for construction waste?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

One time we bought a bag, but the collection cost was quite high, so the next time we just went to a local dumpster company wand rented a small one for a week. If you get everything ready ahead of time, then you only need it for a week, and they ran deals at certain points throughout the year.

      I was only joking

Does she have a place to "park" a dumpster? The friends I have known who have done this, the truck back up, rolls off the dumpster, and after a week/month, etc., they come back and "winch" it back on the truck and drive off. A person rents the dumpster - same price regardless of how full, how much is weights, etc.

People in my neighborhood have often used Bagster. It's like $30 for the bag and $125-150 for the pickup. Seems to hold a lot. I'm jealous of her urge to purge, it's a constant sticking point between my wife and me! Let's say she takes a while to realize something is not needed. Wait, why is she looking like that at me right now?
