He WAS a command sergeant major, and most clips have him saying "I was a command sergeant major" which is accurate.
That's like being a general, and being busted down to a major and saying "I was a general."
Or like me saying "I'm a New Yorker."
One can be factual without being completely truthful.
ETA:
Yes there are a few clips where he (or normally, someone else says to him) "you are a retired command sergeant major" which is not accurate since he retired at as a sergeant major.
And...he didn't dispute it.

Wonder if 89th routinely claims to be Brad Pitt...

It does seem rather odd to spend such time parsing statements, act indignant when he didn’t correct someone else’s misrepresentation, then go pull a lever for Donald Trump.

Nope. I know what I'm getting in Trump.
Lower taxes, less regulation, lower energy prices, less illegals (Vance has the best idea on those)and judges. And bud, it's ALL about the judges.
I'll take some hyperbole (that's what you get from Trump, seldom do you get the outright lies such as the Biden Crime Family) and put up with the media circus.
-
I'm totally with you on all of that Jolly, except to me it's not hyperbole, but it's lying, adultery, selfishness, and overall immature bullying that prevents me from voting for him. Not that it matters or he cares, but that's why. I won't even mention the crimes, convicted or just charged. It's a shame, too. Most of his policies, the judicial appointments, and his alpha leadership would be a great legacy, there are just so many swamp stains on it...

Start thinking like a Democrat.
They don't care if Kamala dives into a bath of virgin's blood, if she can deliver the policies they want. They're not electing a pope.
Ideally, neither should we.
When faced with the allegations that Grant was a drunk, what did Lincoln do?
-
If it doesn't matter what kind of asshole you vote for as long as he shills for the right party, what's the point of these interminable discussions?

Arguing with you sumbitches what ain't got enough sense to vote the Right way.

"JD Vance is weird."
You know that he ran the Gay-Straight Ally Club at the school he assistant coached at, right?
He loved hanging around HS Boys Locker Rooms, the gay kids, and spending a weekend every month holed up in a bunker with a bunch of guys…
Maybe there’s another reason they needed IUF for their kids…
-
I say that teasingly, but there’s enough there to justify a little opposition research.

Does he mean the HS he attended or the one he taught at?
Beyond that, JD didn’t go to Yale from HS, either. He went to Iraq. How many of Mr. Walz’s students or classmates went to Iraq in the military? A few, I bet. Though Mr. Walz didn’t. Then Vance went to Ohio State. How many of Walz’s students/classmates went to state college? A few, I imagine. THEN Vance went to Yale.
The democrats trying to paint JD Hillbilly Eulogy effin Vance as an elite is hilarious and dare I say, weird?

Yeah, he's elite like Bill Clinton is elite.
He is now. However, I don’t think many people would’ve called him elite back in 1992.
ETA: in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if a significant number of people referred to him as “a hillbilly “.
