Grandparents can and do babysit. I know we do. I know others on here do so, too.

I think Vance has established much of his immediate family was quite dysfunctional. That doesn't impact the norm.

And whose grandmother was a lifeline and raised him. This has to be the dumbest take, yet.

JD is basically saying he would commit treason, or something of that sort.

...Would not have certified the 2020 election results, "would've asked states to submit alternative slates of electors..."

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. How does this not piss of every red blooded republican/american?

And again for the 1000x time, imagine if Obama was saying this if he lost in 2012...

I can sympathize with being disgusted by this mealy mouthed nonsense from Vance. I would keep in mind that any such action on the part of Trump's people would have had no plausible path for a win, and would only have made it more and more clear to the sane among us that the results of the election were valid. I don't know why vance says "let the public have a debate". It would not have been decided by a public debate. All that stuff ends up at the supreme court, and then the sane among us realize that they would have decided the win for Biden, while the insane would be, in that case, on the left, and they would be both terrified and completely sure that SCOTUS would give the election to Trump.

Vance has to say that to placate his boss. The man he described so unflatteringly a relatively short time ago.

                I was only joking

I would also note that the alternative electors were a contingency plan that always hinged on there being proof of fraud that held up in court. Without that proof, there is no plausible path for alternative electors to steal the presidency for Trump.

Okay, maybe not just Sen Vance

Tucker Carlson at a recent President Trump event

Carlson opined that Americans under Democratic leadership have been allowed to act like a toddler “smear[ing] the contents of his diaper on the wall of your living room” or a “hormone-addled 15-year-old daughter” slamming the door of her bedroom and giving her parents the finger. Then, he said, “There has to be a point at which Dad comes home,”

“When Dad gets home, you know what he says?” Carlson asked the crowd. “‘You’ve been a bad girl, you’ve been a bad little girl, and you’re getting a vigorous spanking right now.’” A huge grin on his face, he continued, “‘And no, it’s not going to hurt me more than it hurts you. No, it’s not. I’m not going to lie. This is going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me. And you earned this. You’re getting a vigorous spanking because you’ve been a bad girl.’”

                    WTF???!!
