No good, very bad night

Ever had a sore throat turned up to 11, so that not only is swallowing scary, every twitch of anything in that area sends a jolt of pain through your head? That kept me up all night, along with a fever and headache and stuffy nose. I caved and got a COVID test this morning, and I am positive. First time ever, as far as I know. Probably got it on the plane. Feeling much better this morning after last night's torture.

Seems like a mini-wave going on. Just anecdotal but I wouldn’t be surprised to see cases are up.

Glad you got over that initial hit, Horace. You taking anything?
I found Tylenol kept a lid on my symptoms.

Today is the 3rd week anniversary of my coming down with Covid. I only had a sore throat the first day or so. After that, it morphed into heavy fatigue and malise. I took Palovid on day 2 - BUT a lot of folks have suggested that Paxlovid may be assocaited with a rebound. I don't know if I would take it again - BUT it did seem to knock down the symptoms quickly =- just took a long time to completely murder off the bug.
But everyone is different. I hope you murder it off quickly. From what I hear Covid is a bit more prevalent in the South - and again, some of the suspician is that a lot of folks are indoors - confined spaces with air conditioning.

Get well soon and remember to gargle several times a day with salt and warm water along with the usual rest and plenty of non dehydrating fluids. Lemon and honey will soothe the sore throat.
Seconded. And a great way to have that lemon and honey is a hot toddy…

I’m glad you’re finally feeling better. Hopefully I won’t be in for 3 weeks of this.

Fluids, rest, acetaminophen and a cough suppresent. Keep a check on your O2Sat. If it hits 94 or below and you seem like you've got a little chest tightness, make sure you see a doc.
Down here, docs give steroids, even though it's not recommended. Paxolovid is a discussion to have with your doc.
