For years I have been sitting in a normal office chair (at my computer desk), probably bought for $100 somewhere. I spend more time in this chair than pretty much anywhere else in the house, and I just got a random company benefit to upgrade your home office if you work remotely (which I do). Anyway... has everyone used a Steelcase "Gesture" chair? Among a few, it seems to be a clear favorite across Reddit... but it ain't cheap. Like $2,000 or something stupid.

Curious if anyone has an office chair they swear by. No @Doctor-Phibes not a chair that you swear in.

This might suit you - it's a recliner with a built in foot rest

I use no chair of any kind. I stand all day.

      Behold, the ungovernable.

      Please love yourself.

has been excellent for me. I place a premium on the height, so it's easy to get in and out of.

Difficult to judge from the video. Does the whole chair recline or only the back reclines back?

If the seat doesn't recline along with the back, that's a non-starter for me. I want tilt and rock.
          This is what I mean.

Also @89th , avoid "bonded leather." It wears poorly and if you're in the chair for hours at a time, seat and armrests will wear through.

          Bonded leather is crap.

Bonded leather is made by shredding leather scraps and leather fiber, then mixing it with bonding materials. The mixture is next extruded onto a cloth or paper backing, and the surface is usually embossed with a leather-like texture or grain. Color and patterning, if any, are a surface treatment that does not penetrate like a dyeing process would. The natural leather fiber content of bonded leather varies. The manufacturing process is somewhat similar to the production of paper.[3]

Lower-quality materials may suffer flaking of the surface material in as little as a few years, while better varieties are considered very durable and retain their pattern and color even during commercial use.[3] Because the composition of bonded leathers and related products varies considerably, and is sometimes a trade secret, it may be difficult to predict how a given product will perform over the course of time.

I tried lots of office chairs, with every imaginable feature.

After decades of looking for the perfect chair, I ended up with something like this.

It just fits, no pain, simple

Sorry, the bare chair is my current seat, during the days of the suits I used the fancy chair.

I remember the guy who bought the fancy chairs told me that I was sitting in "The Chair of the Year".

                I felt privilege.

I had and liked an Aeron for a few years but the arm rests wore out. After replacing them, the seat broke.
