I'm just glad they have a man playing the part this time. (In 2007, Cate Blanchett played Dylan in "I'm Not There")

I didn't recognize Edward Norton as the dad at the end of the teaser. Glad to see him back, always enjoyed his acting.

Excellent. I've always wanted to watch Bob Dylan have sex.

How interesting. I'd pay not to see that.

I might have meant it as a joke about the amount of romance in the trailer.

Full trailer out. The director is James Mangold who has a short but really great list of movies to his name, such as 3:10 to Yuma, Cop Land, Walk the Line, and others. I really like Walk the Line, so hopefully this of similar quality.

I like Mangold. Recently watched 3:10 to Yuma again. Mostly for Ben Foster's performance. I haven't seen a better portrayal of repressed homosexuality since I saw Kamala's husband interviewed.

I recall the opening to Walk the Line... watch (and listen) to it, what a great opening to set the tone for the movie. Crank up the speakers.

That’s actually a remake of a movie called Walk Hard.i prefer the original, but that one is good too.

He has been monetizing himself relentlessly for the past decade or more. I suppose he gets a good cut of this movie.

Saw the movie last night. I had high expectations (akin to Walk The Line, the Johnny Cash biopic) and the movie fell short. The cinematography was good, as was the acting and singing, but it felt more like the movie was just taking a slice or two of Dylan's life and displaying it on screen without too much character development or a long story arch to hold interest. As a stand alone movie it is good and worth seeing, just didn't hold up compared to other biopics.

I felt similarly. Everyone who knows anything about Dylan knows the story of the outrage at Newport. He didn’t care, it was where he wanted to go. The Seeger-Guthrie connection was old news too. I felt there was a story to tell but they never found it.
