Looking for suggestions for a good “practice sight reading” book for a non-beginner adult pianist (my son). He had a lot of lessons, his music theory is excellent and he improvises and composes music, but would like to get better at sight reading. I know it is just practice (my skills improved exponentially when I helped both kids with their lessons over the years), so I’m looking for a book with interesting music that doesn’t do any music theory breakdowns. They need to start pretty easy - something like Schumann’s Album for the Young, but with a few more simple/short/fun to play pieces in the beginning. Any suggestions?

A big book of Bach's harmonized chorales is a common suggestion I've seen.

      Education is extremely important.

Jon went thru Scarlatti sonatas. He found it worth the effort.

The URL is pretty obvious, you have probably already found this.

          https://www.sightreadingfactory.com/

I only generated a few exercises, but it seems to work ok. The price is right.

Thanks! I will check out the Bach and Scarlatti. I had not seen that sight reading factory website - it looks pretty cool!

I did. I literally sight read all of the Scarlatti sonatas. They number 550+. I forget the official number and beyond that are several that many believe are his, which I did. If there was a theory that it came from him I did it.

I did one a day for a long time.

              Only non-witches get due process.

I recently finished a great book about sight reading. I'd let you borrow it, but I listened to the audiobook version.
