First road rage casualty I knew

Oh man, I'm sorry Mik.

Oh man. So sorry!

Andy was in his 50s, and a long hard life. He was mostly deaf at birth and went to St Rita’s school in Cincinnati. Later in life he got Cochlear implants, but his communication skills were always limited. He had a bad car accident with lingering injuries and became addicted to prescription opioids, having to quit cold turkey when the DEA started cracking down. On top of that he had bad psoriatic arthritis.
Despite all that he had a heart of gold and helped a lot of people despite not having a lot of means himself.
Not sure what started it, but apparently Andy left his truck and hit the guy in the other car pretty hard. He was rearing back to do it again when they guy shot him. He died at the hospital.
Andy was instrumental in getting my local scholarship charity off the ground. But he was a big, rough looking guy and I could see him being scary if you didn’t know him.

I read the news story. It was the guy that shot him that called the police. It sounds like he was truly remorseful as well. This is nothing but pain for everyone.

The credibility some give to physical altercations as a means to resolve conflict will never not be idiotic and absurd. The only "cool" fight is one where neither participant does any actual damage. Then maybe you get to talk about it afterwards as if it were cool.

Very sorry to hear of the tragedy. I’m not saying someone shouldn’t carry a gun but if you don’t have the gun you won’t think about using it. But of course it all depends on where you are and the threats you might encounter.
Anyway. Very sorry to hear of the death.
