Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon has been arrested and charged with fraud over a fundraising campaign to build a wall on the US-Mexico border.
Mr Bannon and three others defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors in connection with the "We Build the Wall" campaign, which raised $25m (£19m), the US Department of Justice (DoJ) said.
Mr Bannon received more than $1m, at least some of which he used to cover personal expenses, the DoJ said.
He is due to appear in court later.

Beat me, LOL.
He always struck me as being such nice, quiet, unassuming and honest fellow....
Lock him up!

Another example of Bill Barr persecuting the Left!
(Oops! That was Susan Rice and the conservatives. Sorry.)

In one sense, Mexico has been pretty active in border security after COVID appeared...

Totally the same thing.

One would think he would know he has a full time target on his back (Which he earns knowingly) and is smarter than that but some people just think the law doesn’t apply to them.

Not really, but it is another nail in the coffin. Trump had already been applying pressure and the Mexicans had been making some modest efforts.
In that sense, yes, the Mexicans are helping to pay for the wall, real or virtual.

A year old piece but after what we've learned about the NRA and Bannon it's worth revisiting.

Actually, not that big of a deal. This stuff has always existed and will exist as long as money can influence politics.
It's not unique to either side of the aisle.

Why would he say, "the worst thing is to be arrested on a Chinese billionaire's yacht." ?
That's exactly where I would like to be, when I'm finally arrested. Better than being arrested in a homeless shelter or something.
These people don't make sense, they just don't know what it takes to be rich.

It's not exactly swamp-draining, though, is it?

After a few weeks of cajoling by Kelly. Trump agreed only when he undercut his North Korea position in an interview.
Trump doesn’t have a good record of draining swamp dwellers as long as they remain loyal to him.

Oh yes, let's qualify it, shall we?

Bringing in a swamp guy and then firing him isn't really draining.
