At little league baseball games or similar sports, every time there is an exciting play, every single parent in the stands is yelling out what to do. “Throw to 2nd base!” “Watch the runner!” “Throw to first!” Like 50 people. It’s pure noise, can’t distinguish anything, and I have no idea what the kids are hearing, but most likely not their coach! It’s crazy. I was walking by a game the other day and it’s…annoying. Not sure if it’s always been that way but I don’t recall it when I played little league.

At the pool today. High school kids were there together. But by together I mean they were sitting in chairs next to each other but glued to their phones. It. Is. SAD. Not to play this card but when I spent summers at the pool, we spent time (when out of the water) playing cards, or ping pong, or anything…interactive.

Try going to chess tournaments instead.

The pool advocates need to make pool more interesting than whatever it is the kids can get from their phones.
