My only issue with it is the loss of the onside kick.

Supposedly, to cut down on injuries. Personally, I would have adjusted the rule, so that any kickoff landing in the endzone would touchback to the 40.

Keep the excitement in the game.

I like that idea, Jolly.

@LuFins-Dad clearly I could google this, but what option do teams have if there is no on-sides kick? That always added a little excitement to MANY games when it was close.

BTW the new rule feels weird, but will probably feel normal after a few years.
