    The comments:

The difference between Google Maps and Waze (as described to me by a Google employee) is Waze will always get you there faster but you will have to drive through someone’s living room.

I once asked @noam what Google was planning when they acquired Waze, and why are they not integrated into Google Maps - to which he replied, “oh, you assume they had a plan.”

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I use Waze rather than Apple Maps for my drive to work as it's much better at recommending a quicker route if things start to go south. What I really dislike about it is it gives way too much information - the guy recites exactly what is on the sign in excruciating detail, quite often twice.

And oddly enough on Sunday, there was a 50 minute discrepancy between what Apple said and what Waze said. In the end Waze underestimated by about 10 minutes due to an accident, but still....

      I was only joking

Weird comment since the screenshot shows Waze as the ~38 minute slower route.

I never use Apple Maps, always use Google Maps. I usually spend a minute to review the route since I like to know where I'm going if maps is unavailable... Used to use Waze when I commuted in Virginia, mainly to learn about speed traps.

My favourite is "Warning - object on road" as you're driving down the I95 at 80 mph

            The guy?

            Nobody uses the guy.

            The girl is much better.

For accidents and police speed traps

And I’ve seen Waze give better warnings about delays. Once I was stuck on a bridge in Northeast MD coming back from NY. A tractor trailer had flipped and was sideways up ahead. I knew it was bad. Turned on Google Maps and they showed a 7 minute slowdown. Waze said a 90 minute slowdown. They were both wrong, it was 2+ hours, but Waze was closest.

Not worth it to have SIRI keep interrupting my podcast or audible books…

I’ve noticed Luke runs his all the time. Last time I was driving him back from CNU I made him drive and turned off the app. As we were getting closer to home I started hearing “Oh, that’s where that is?” And the like.
