Pistachio and Mags have arrived

Itâs official⌠We took them down to the shelter on Wednesday for spaying and neutering, they were kept overnight for observation, and Karla completed the adoption paperwork and brought them home on Thursday.
Weâre having to keep them separated and a little confined for a few days until they are fully recovered, so both kitties have been wanting constant attention and love. This is a big change from Magnetoâs typical behavior, and Karlaâs worried about a personality shift.

Pistachio earned her keep last night! Finley was taking his dishes into the kitchen last night and hollers âWhatâs that?â Over by Magnetoâs food bowl is a tiny mouse sniffing around, bold as can be. The two cats are over in the corner just lounging⌠Iâm a little ticked at the cats at this point⌠Itâs right thereâŚ
So I get a box and a dust pan, but the mouse gets away. A couple of hours later, I am getting ready to feed the cats their evening meal, and Jerryâs over by Pistachioâs bowl, brave as can be. Pistachio was following me with the food, saw the mouse, and snatched it up, Karla immediately snatched Pistachio up, we took her outside and got her to let go of the mouse who took off.
After that, Pistachio was a wild kitty. She was like âIâve never felt so alive!â And spent the next two hours zooming and stalking everything in the house.

We clearly feed them too much as they just want to play with them while I want them to kill it immediately.

Nobody warned me what effect the cats would have on my schedule. Every frigging time that I decide to get up and move on to the next part of my day is exactly when they jump into my lap.

FFS. Got to bed late last night, packing for our getaway. At 3 frigging AM I wake up to a howling outside the bedroom door, the bangs as a cat starts throwing himself against the door. I go out to the hall and Magneto (the cat thatâs normally a little stand offish is purring and acting Ike heâs starved for attention. I take him downstairs and pet him while watching MSTK 3000. The show ends, I get up to go back to bed and he starts getting upset⌠I wound up having to sleep on the couch with the cat crawled up next to me.
