Saw a cybertruck in the wild

That’s on him not on Tesla.
But a no resale for one year provision in the contract? Kind of creepy.
Not really. It’s wrong, but not really creepy. They’re trying to prevent the whole Xbox thing where guys buy all of the new game consoles being released, then resell them for 2-3 times the original asking price. The goal is good, the method is not.

Didn't know that was a thing. Wow.

If something is on a relatively small release where the supply is far outstripped by demand, there will always be those that try to profit from it.
In this case, though? I would think Tesla would/should be willing to broker a deal for the guy. Offer it to the next guys down the line (nobody at the front will take it, but you still have to make the offer) then work your way down the list. Offer it at 95% the price of a new one. When it sells, Tesla takes 5% as a processing fee.

Saw one yesterday, my first. I didn't snap a photo - driving.
- It looks much bigger than I expected.
- It looks much dirtier than I expected.
- It looks much, much, uglier than I expected.

I saw one yesterday too, and it made an impression. Mostly because it sped past me at 60 mph in a residential area.

This type of thing might provide BMW owners with some relief, at least.

So far so good. Tomorrow we’ll be heading north on the Pacific Coast Highway. All next week we’ll be in SFO

I haven't been there in a while. The videos they post on Tik Tok show the city as dystopian with nearly all of the stores vacated. I'm curious regarding your perception of the city as (or if) it stands.

I’ve been there twice since Covid, and LA twice since Covid. I always see more homeless encampments here in LA, though that could be that where I happen to go aren’t representative samples.
I did go to a target with a CVS in it here in LA and had to have the glass doors opened for detergent, toothpaste, and razors.

About the same number of trips for me, but for me, the number of (visible) homeless was much less on the last trip.

Back to the thread, below is a real Cybertruck in the wild!!
The leader of Russia’s Chechen Republic has heaped praise on Tesla CEO Elon Musk and invited the billionaire to visit his region after posting a video of himself driving a gun-mounted Cybertruck.
In a video posted on his Telegram channel on Saturday, Ramzan Kadyrov could be seen taking a Cybertruck on a drive in the regional capital Grozny before standing astride a machinegun mounted on the vehicle’s roof.
“I express my sincere gratitude to Elon Musk. This is, of course, the strongest genius of our time and a specialist. A great man,” Kadyrov said in a post accompanying the video.
Kadyrov invited Musk to Grozny, saying he would be received as “my most dear guest”.

My wife just sent me a pic of one in a parking lot here. It was blue. Anyway, she said it was UGLY.
I think it's kind of fun to push the envelope. I wouldn't buy one but all I can think is Elon is having fun about what can be done when you have time and money.
