That was my question exactly. How on earth did Chicago contrarian know their immigration status?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.

He obviously didn't know.
I was driving home last week from an appointment with the hand surgeon. For those of you who know Chicago/The Gold Coast will understand.
I drove south on St. Clair, getting ready to turn onto Grand for Lower Wacker. At the corner of St. Clair and Ohio was a group of 16-20 people, all male, all age 18-30, if I had to guess. They were all standing at the corner, with backpacks.
Did I know their immigration status?
Nope.
But I would put a good amount of money on my guess being correct.

Maybe he assumed that real Americans wouldn't be seen dead robbing a donation bin? They go to proper stores to steal their stuff.

Am I the only one that didn't expect a human to appear coming out of the bin itself?
On a list of crimes, folks taking clothes from a donation bin is probably at the bottom, if a crime at all. I couldn't care less where my clothes go once donated, glad they go towards someone in need. (Not commenting on their ownership of an SUV or their ingenuity that could be applied towards a job...)
