As much of a lawbreaker as he was, Floyd never, in my recollection anyway, lobbed rockets at random civilian targets. For decades.

It’s just so gross to see a parent try to piggy back in a kid’s social credibility that is based on a meaningless and risk-free protest to begin with.

      Education is extremely important.

I've seen many on these boards over the years just never reference their kids' political persuasions, and that's, IMO, the correct answer. On the other hand, during the BLM riots, I noticed some parents, with appropriately aged kids, say proudly that their kids are out there on the streets, just because they thought it was the right thing to do. Known douche P*D was one such parent. But it extends beyond our community. It was a thing back in the Floyd days, for parents to brag on their kids and the kids' courageous protests. I have to think these same kids must have so many sympathies for the pro-Palestine protests of these days, but now the question is harder, and gosh darn if I see no parents bragging about their kids. Funny things, these cultural issues.

Let’s not disappoint you then. I’m really proud of my kid’s ability to differentiate morally between Hamas and Palestinians, between Israel’s actions in Gaza vs the West Bank, and to separate his thoughts about the state of Israel from those about the criminal who currently leads it. All this he’s been able to maintain despite having many friends who have simply decided to pick a side and chant.

It’s more nuance than I would have mustered in 9th grade.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

Certainly it's more information too. I'm glad your kid is assimilating large amounts of it.

Day to day it would be gaming and guitar, like so many kids his age.
