I have watched many if not most YouTube videos of the earthquake and Tsunami. This video is in Japanese so I cannot understand what people are shouting (though I can certainly guess).

    Watch 1 minute.

It's so tragic to see people hesitate, and then realize there is nowhere to escape. That to me is what is most shocking. What would I have done, what would you have done if working in one of those buildings. Take just a bit of time to grab important things before running, just a minute to get your stuff and head downstairs?

      Wow! A few thoughts:

      1. At 0:42 when the other streets start to flow in is crazy. Obviously that one old man was toast. Ugh.

      2. At 1:25 when the buildings start to float away is surreal.

      3. I wonder how many were in the vehicles you saw being swept away.

      4. Talk about a unfathomable scene. End of the world shit.

Wow. The power of nature. Very sad in this situation. 😢

I may have mention before, but one of my very good friends was flying from BKK - NRT, and the plane landed just about at the exact moment of the earthquake. Very very bumpy landing, but otherwise, not any damage.

They did sit on the airplane for about 6 hours until they could get off.

I actually flew into Narita in two days after, and most of the airport was running on just emergency power, but it was operating. I just remember how hot it was in the airport terminal.

Yeah, the old guy didn't stand a chance. He must have thought the water would only be knee high or something.

The women on the sidewalk, they hesitated for a moment, then guys started screaming at them to not try to cross the street. Just a moment's hesitation -- a decision that ends up being a life or death decision. And they made the wrong choice, listening to a male.

Must have been crucial to make that trip!

I was already scheduled to leave Thailand on that day, so just did not change my plans. LOL Thought for sure I was going to have to, or at least re-routing, but it worked out okay. 🙂

Crazy how fast time goes by
