Funny!

@Horace said in Carol Burnett tries to stay on script:
Verbal abuse amongst family members is very sad and can do lasting damage to what should be a supportive and loving relationship.
I apologize for my intemperate posting of such a comedy sketch from 40 or so years ago.
It was a sadder, less sensitive and less appropriate time. I'm glad we've moved beyond that.
Mea culpa.

It was triggering, and I need time to process my emotions. But I would like to offer a provisional forgiveness, contingent on a full and timely psychological recovery. I think we’ve all learned a valuable lesson here.

I get it.
But...we're friends here, right?
Can I be honest?
Frankly, I'm kind of disappointed in seeing what a fragile person you've become in the last few years. Back in your California days, you'd rough and tumble with the best of them. Now, even though you've moved to Texas, you still seem to be a bit of a snowflake.
When I go to bed tonight, I'll kneel at the bedside and say a prayer for your recovery of strength.
I say this as a concerned friend. Please don't consider it an insult. I'm just trying to help.

Not sure if I’m weird, but since I was a kid I really enjoyed the sitcom. The laugh track, the same house set and fake backyards. The writing always made shows witty enough to watch and often with some great/sincere scenes.
Like this from Fresh Prince when Will’s biological dad shows up but bails. Trivia, you can actually hear cast members crying during this scene, off camera.

Link to videoThanks for posting that, 89th. That's the proper treatment of family that all sit coms should observe, in every scene where family members speak with one another.
