    Alternate Title: “Old man shakes fist at cloud.”

    I had a grocery delivery today. It was delivered right on time, and I was notified via text.

    I have a cart that I use for hauling stuff up to the condo. This delivery consisted of about 7 plastic grocery bags, so the cart would be the perfect way to bring the stuff upstairs.

    Our building has an “outer lobby” with mailboxes, etc. accessible to anyone on the street, but you need to use your key fob to get into the main lobby of the building.

    As I was loading the groceries into my cart, a couple of ladies, residents of the building came in. They walked through the outer lobby as I was putting the LAST bag into the cart, and let the door to the inner lobby close, meaning I had to pull out my keys and open the door.

    Then, as I was walking into the lobby to catch the elevator, obvious to them, they didn’t bother holding the door so that I could get on as well.

    It’s not a big deal, but just a total lack of courtesy and awareness of anything other than yourself.

    I was raised to be more polite.

      An armed society is a polite society.

        In your building I’d think they’d have to know you by sight if nothing else.

          @Mik said in Rude people.:

          They do. They said "Hello," and walked right in, locking the door behind them.

            I have been watching rerun of the show "Seinfeld" (which I think is very funny), and there was a recent episode where he does not recognize a member of his apartment building so doesn't let him into the building. Later, the guy is in the elevator and sees Seinfeld coming and allows the door to close. (Much funnier in the show than my telling. 555)

              Any change they thought your card wouldn't fit onto the elevator with them? I'm stretching here... sounds rude or almost worst... oblivious.

                The cart....

                I think three people and the cart would have been fine. After all, the elevator accommodated two people and a grand piano....
