First of all, it's convenient as hell, and we use it at least twice a week.

Last night, we ordered from a local Burger/Italian Beef place -
    "Pop's Italian Beef."

I wasn't all that hungry, so I got a Polish sausage. It's supposed to come with fries. Mrs. George got a burger and a large fry that she'd nibble on throughout the evening.

Doordash has a membership - "Dashpass" which eliminates delivery charges and cuts other fees.

So, here's what I paid with Dashpass, and for comparison, what it would be without Dashpass.

The order was messed up - there were no fries with the Polish. Thinking the restaurant changed the menu, I went directly to their site and saw, yeah, the Polish comes with fries. The restaurant says I can get it delivered - "Delivery with Doordash."

Then, I looked at the prices - substantially different directly from the restaurant - even if it's being delivered with Doordash!

    I don't get it!

(Oh, DD gave me a credit for the missing fries)

You’d still pay the DoorDash price. If you ordered directly then went and got it you’d pay the restaurant price. Lots of places mark up to offset DoorDash’s take, whoch is steep.

Are you sure? Look at the delivery charge from the restaurant. $3.99.

The total is still almost 3 dollars cheaper than going through DoorDash.

I did not. I’m surprised DoorDash allows that.

And, when you click on the "view menu" link, it takes you to the standard page that you see with regular doordash.

They're identical, other than the prices.

Yeah, I am aware of one other place that marks up the prices for third party delivery orders, on top of the delivery charge that is a separate line item.

George I’m glad you made a spreadsheet / table for this!

Maybe I’m out of the loop but I’ve used Uber eats only once, because we got a gift card for it. It was convenient but for some reason I never never never remember about door dash or other food delivery options when we are thinking about dinner. We order pizza once a week but that uses an old school employed pizza dude, whom we’ve gotten to know lol. It’s nice.

Same here. We had the same guy, Emil, for about 10 years. Then there was a fire that destroyed the place - "Doctor Pizza - We make house calls!"

Miss that place - great thin crust pizza.

Nope. Don t eat too much pizza. DOnt like too much cheese. When I do eat pizza, normally just go to the restaurant and either carry out or eat in.
