If you tied a rope around the earth along the equator. And you then needed to raise it up by 1-foot the whole way around, how much more rope would you need?

Should have posted this on pi day. Circumference is pi * diameter right? Then diameter increases by 2 feet.

      Education is extremely important.

Yes, and while you are basically there, now you need to mention how much more rope is needed?

          About two meters.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

Correct, and the funny thing is if you did the same question about a basketball instead of the earth, it would still be two meters. Math is c00l.

It’s a great counterintuitive result. Fun!

I don’t understand how increasing the height by one foot, then doing math, gives you an answer in meters

                    I was only joking

                      It's an American thing.

I understand stealing our weights and measures and then pretending that they're your own (despite calling them Imperial), but why change the freaking pint?
