A. I wouldn't assume a whole lot either way. I don't pretend to know the Mind of God. All I do know is that He has used seriously flawed people in the past to do His Will.
It's certainly true that some seriously flawed people have been said to be doing God's work while doing some terrible things. To be fair, I don't think Trump really compares with Oliver Cromwell or Osama bin Laden, he's more of a P.T. Barnum figure, or a character from a Gilbert and Sullivan production. The most surprising thing about him is how willing people seem to be to taken in by his nonsense.

As said on the show…
If Trump is now in business with God, the Big Guy might want to watch out as in a year or two he’ll be bankrupt and sentenced to 50 days in jail.
A little Jesus wouldn't hurt Trump.
A little Jesus wouldn't hurt you, either.

I don't think the vast majority are taken in. I think most people understand the mercurial personality of Trump, the ego and narcissism. But they also understand his chaos and effect upon The System. Trump is a catalyst, a flying wrecking ball knocking down walls of concealment.
The System (or Swamp, if you prefer) has rules for thee, but not for me. It dispenses Justice with an uneven hand. It sets preferences for different groups. Much of the Swamp is too in-bred, too uni-party, too concerned with preservation of power and not concerned enough with the good of the country.
If not for Trump, we may not know just how bad the FBI and the Justice Department have become. We wouldn't have known how porous the border had become. We may not have known how bad crime in American cities had become. And we certainly wouldn't have known how much the Coastal Elites were shaping public policy for the rest of the country.
Trump becomes an ersatz Rorschach test for the Beltway id of the country. Maybe that's why it's fun to wind him up, point him in the right direction and watch the pins fly as the Trump Train strikes.

I think that is precisely why the vast majority is taken in by the con. The majority thinks it understands. It has no clue to what he is about or how he ticks.

Compare and contrast, Trump in 2020:
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2020/09/trump-americans-who-died-at-war-are-losers-and-suckers/615997/… [Trump] did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
Got verification for that story? Who saw it? Who heard it?
General John Kelly.
I'll give you the CNN hit piece:
John Kelly is credible witness and source.
Anyone have a problem with that or with what he said?

Yes.

Yes, again.
The article that Jolly cited points to Kelly's comments with respect to the Atlantic article. In a nutshell, it says, "Yeah, I believe it happened and that the Orange Man said those things." It does NOT say that he witnessed those things allegedly said by Trump, and he does not explicitly say that he did.
However, he goes on to say that he heard Trump say OTHER reprehensible things which are not stated in the Atlantic article.

I see what you’re saying. Valid points. But I’ll give Gen. Kelly the benefit of the doubt. Unlike Gen. Flynn he has done or said nothing while he worked for Trump or since he left to indicate, to me at least, that he is a flake. Nor were several others who left Trump’s executive, flakes.

BTW, this is the actual video:

I really dont get when there is a belief that God is working through someone. If this is the case, isnt it judgmental of us to believe that God is not working through the "other" guy also. I dont think it good form for us to assume who god is working through.
God could just as easy be working for President Biden.

This is a tempest in a teapot. Every week we get urgent mail and calls for all manner of politicians calling me friend and saying how urgent it is that I donate all my worldly goods to save the country from Trump, Biden, GOP, etc ad nauseum. At least here you get a Bible.

That's very unlikely. Like most people, I find that God shares between 95 and 99% of my values and ideals, so there's no way he's going to do that.

I tell you, Phibes, you’re a saint, a veritable saint.
