Mission(s) accomplished.
-
I had several goals for today.
- Not cook a meal
- Take a nap
- Watch 2 episodes of "Three Body" - (the Chinese version)
- Continue re-reading Dune
- Not leave the confines of our condominium
I was successful in all of them.
Dinner was leftover turkey, stuffing, etc from the freezer. So I put it in the oven, after thawing, I did not cook.
Napped from 1:30 to about 2:45. Even got some REM sleep!
Yeah, Three Body is very soporific.
Having watched the movie, I thought a re-read would be good.
THere's several bags of trash that need to be taken to the chute, but that's a chore for tomorrow.
I love retirement.

- Got kiddo up and got her some breakfast.
- Gave the cat his shot and fed the two upstairs ones.
- Two work meetings. (Some of these are largely horseshit so I've taken to buying weird "special issue" tabloids in the checkout at the store, then coming home, saving these for such meetings and writing blackout poetry with the articles. Today was such a situation.)
- Made lunch for kiddo, ate something myself. Played teahouse using my great-grandmother's teacups. She probably would have been happy about that. Worked through pronouncing "fukumushi" with kiddo.
- Stuff done for job 1.
- Exercised.
- Meeting for job 2.
- Work for job 2.
- Soccer practice. Then home to make dinner. (Huevos rancheros.)
- Presently I'm in the middle of doing dishes and kiddo picking out a story to read for storytime. Typing this as I wait for her to make a decision.
- After she goes to bed, it'll be more work for job 2, hang out with wife for maybe 90 minutes. (She's working a full-time job and in nursing school so her schedule's as bad as my own.)
- After that, it'll be Time To Yourself Roulette. Probably what I'll do is work on one of two side projects (writing a bit of a dense ballad at the moment, and also challenged myself to make an entire D&D campaign from the ground up using AI).
- Read more from a graphic novel I picked up a few months ago.
- Pass out.
I completely forget what it's like having chill.
-
Oh and took out trash, got mail and cleaned up kitchen with kiddo around noon. I can't remember everything that happens.
-
- Dropped wife off at airport.
- Bought beer on way back home.
- Picked up dogs from basement.
- Opened fridge.
- Poured beer.
- Switched on TV.
- Booked day off work tomorrow.
I'm up to 3. so far. I reckon I'll be over-achieving.
-
Up at 2:40. Should have been 3:30 to get to the airport, but woke up early.

That is great, @George-K and loved the summary @Aqua-Letifer
Normal day for me. Basically, some form of work, cleaning, or watching kid from 5am-8pm, then maybe shower or watch a show before the 1 year old wakes up around 10pm, then I sleep 11pm-5am, usually with 2-3 kid wake ups...average 5 hours of sleep according to my watch.

Woke up and processed some emails while Mayla slept.
Went to breakfast outside at our resort here in Key West.
Hung out on beach most of the day.
Went on a private sunset sail from 6-8pm.
Ate at Hogfish Grill, a popular spot for locals that our captain told us about.
Returned to resort, spent 40m or so in the jacuzzi.
Slept knowing I’d repeat the day more or less the same today.
