“It’s deeply troubling that we may have been a target of arson — an act of domestic terrorism — because of the work we do on behalf of the people of Minnesota and the Upper Midwest,” Dickey said. “We hope that the authorities will bring those responsible to justice, and we will do everything we can to help those efforts.
“Most importantly, we’re grateful that our team is safe and, to our knowledge, nobody was harmed in the fire. It’s very sad to see the extensive damage to our office suite and also to Center of the American Experiment and TakeCharge,” Dickey said.
So, a building housing 3 conservative-leaning groups is fire-bombed.
Let's see what coverage this story is getting...
Nothing.
What if...nah. You know.

Not trying to minimize the crime, but why would this be national news?
For me, I have never heard of the group before. From looking at the "National Center for Charitable Statistics", they have revenue of about USD$1.2MM, so not a huge company - maybe locally, but there are many $1.2MM companies in the US.
For example, in 2021, there were 185 House of Worship fires, and 180 in Education places that were investigates by BATS (Bomb Arson Tracking System) as arson. How many made national news?

@taiwan_girl said in Remind me, who are the new Nazis?:
why would this be national news?
You're asking the wrong question.
If a building that housed three liberal organizations was firebombed, would it be national news?
Of course it would.
Education places and Houses of Worship are not the same thing.

I would think that these would get more news. (Or maybe more worthy of news)

Church fires? Dime a dozen. Arson at churches is much more rare, and does get reported. Sometimes nationally. Which national networks is normally determined by the presumed cause…
Educational sites arson investigations? Do you have any idea how many students set trash cans ablaze?
The difference you’re missing here is the scope of the fire as well…

Again, I am not minimizing the crime, but I just dont understand why this was a national story vs. other arson fires that were also never national.
It was covered locally
https://www.twincities.com/2024/02/02/american-experiment-arson-suspected-atf/plus other local papers. Also, by the AP News.
By the same reasoning, there may be arson of Democrat offices that are not reported nationally so we dont know about them.
Here is a arson fire at a Democratic office in Austin, TX. A internet search does not really show any national coverage (no more than the incident above)
Here is a story about a 100 year old church that was completely destroyed by arson in Minnesota. When I do an internet search, other than local news stations (and one CBS story), nothing else seems to be national.

#1) The conservatives hit by the arson are active on Social Media. They got the right attention that drove media to the story…
#2) Compared to the Dem headquarters, the scale of damage is drastically different
#3) The Chilurch in Minnesota? Just guessing, but I bet A LOT of churches and buildings have been burned down In Minneapolis without getting any attention over the last 4 years…
