Frick

I've got some barn cats around the place, most as wild as a March hare. Except for Frick. Frick was out of the last litter my old cat had. He had a brother - Frack - that just came up missing one day. Since it was only a two kitten litter, Frick has grown up mostly by himself.
He has been a most unusual cat. He follows us around the place, and stays wherever we are at. Picking peas, cutting okra, picking tomatoes...Frick is there. He does venture into the house about once a day, to grab some cold milk and soak up a few minutes of air conditioning. And then, out he goes.
Today, my granddaughter was here and had left us with a half-dozen balloons. I watched my crazy cat go after each balloon in turn, taking care not to stick his claws in them, as he batted them around the room. I thought he was just going about it randomly, but he was on a mission. He managed to get all the balloons into one corner, each touching the other, and then he left them there.
So, I may not can herd cats, but I do have a cat that herds...
