      That chicken looks really really good - so does the onion.

        Re: the onion, the trick was to cut maybe 1/3 off the top of the onion (tunic side up), then bake it.

        It wasn't deliberate. Another household member used a third of that onion for another dish a couple of days earlier and I just baked the leftover. I was pleasantly surprised to see it came out of the oven so good looking.
