jon has your back, TG. Presidents are judged on outcome because that's how those judgments are made.

      Sigh.

Presidencies are judged by outcomes because the job actually involves managing events and processes much bigger than the office itself.

      Only non-witches get due process.

I read the ridiculous "logic" of you Trump bashers, and actually feel sorry for you. I can't tell how much of it is stuff you know you're saying wrong but you say it anyway because of partisanship, and how much of it is because you simply are that dumb.

I agree that for many, it's the best approximation to an informed opinion that they'll ever manage to generate.

I am not sure what logic you are refer to?

            My questions for you:

Should President Trump be accountable for the state of the economy right now?
Was President Trump accountable for the state of the economy in January 2020?

The answer to the question "doesn't this drastic over-simplification still apply, if it gives a different answer than a more detailed model?" is no, the drastic over-simplification does not still apply, if there exists a better model to answer questions regarding presidential quality. You can argue with the more complicated model, that's ok, but no, you can't just say "yeah but the oversimplified version is what's typically used".

You honestly don't see how ridiculous that question is, do you....

First, you misrepresent the state of the economy. Next, you try to blame Trump for the economic damage done by a pandemic as if he was the one who caused it. Your question is beyond dumb and if you can't see that I don't know how to begin to untangle the web of nonsense you've built your view around.

Very few do it actually. They put a partisan filter on and decide what was due to the genius of the man vs events beyond his control.

That's self-selection bias. you hear opinions from those motivated to say them out loud. That's not most people.

I have state before that I do not think that President Trump is the cause of where the US economy is right now. I have say that more than once.

What I dont agree with is people who "pick the cherries" and say that when the economy is going good, it is all BECAUSE of President Trump, but when it is going bad, it has NOTHING to do with him.

Yes, you have continually made that claim. No matter how many times people have proven your claim wrong, you have never wavered a single inch from your claim. But continuing to repeat your same old worn out and disproved opinion won't magically turn it into fact or truth. It is an uninformed and incorrect opinion that you refuse to let go of no matter how solidly it gets destroyed, and you use your error as the foundation that you build your entire house of cards on.

Personally, i do not blame President Trump for what has happened to the economy over the past 6 months. (But I also dont give him as much credit as he economically claims for the first three years 55555)
