In these dark times, it is so touching to see her and her Jewish friends dedicate themselves to having faith in those few drops of oil and in their own dedication. That’s the true meaning of the season.

She probably was confused and thought they were going to burn a cross in front of the synagogue.

My guess is she’ll resign as president without admitting wrongdoing, rather just claiming that the (unfair) campaign against her is becoming too much of a distraction for the institution.

Are you saying the campaign is unfair, or that she would claim that it is.

                        The latter.

Though they (the trio) certainly are being scapegoated for university policies with broad support throughout the administration and trustees.

But that’s one of the jobs of a leader. So in that sense it isn’t really unfair. Comes with the territory and the large salary.

Okay, but would you also agree that they could have been and should have been better prepared for their testimony? Beyond that, do you also agree that these school administrations have not done an adequate job in addressing these protests and incidents of violence and physical intimidation on campus?

I wonder what the lawyers who gave them their talking points, were trying to avoid.

Yes, all 3 acted like guilty children.

They should have defended their policy, it is probably legal and certainly has lots support among their fellow loons.

Penalties under the title VI investigations that were already underway by the DoJ, and all the lawsuits from Jewish students that would follow.

Yes, as one wag put it, WilmerHale might have told them to say “it depends” but they didn’t tell them to smirk.

I doubt they have, but in fairness it’s hard to say, we see videos of the incidents but there’s little reporting on any aftermath.

For a sense of perspective, just remember what Summers, Harvard's previous president, resignation was caused by.

Also remember, and contrast his scholarly publications.
