I may or may not call things spicy when I just want to eat them in peace.

So much lying. Honestly just thinking about today I told my kids:

        • The elf (on the shelf) will not come out if they get out of bed before 6am
        • They can build a tunnel under the fence between our neighbor's yard and ours the next time they are over to play with the neighboring kids
        • My phone's batteries were dying so I needed my phone back (to his nerdy credit, my 3 year old was using the star finder app to find planets)
        • That the TV needed a break or it itself will break

And so much fake FOMO. We were heading to a playground and it's very common to say "Let's get our shoes on and go before they close the playground"

So many empty threats that escalate until they work.

Wait, why was Santa included in that list of fictional characters? And Santa would never put down a unicorn!

Pffft right? Everyone knows Santa lives in the North Pole and unicorns are in the fey realm. There's, like, no crossover.

              Please love yourself.

For the record, and maybe because I've had 2 glasses of wine tonight to unwind, but I know full and well (and have known for the last couple years) that I am living in "the good old days" right now. Yes I get maybe 5 hours of sleep per night (3 kids ages 5, 3, and infant = some combo will be up throughout the night), and yes I'm out of shape (no time to work out, plus snacking at 10pm doesn't help)... it's sleep, work, kids, sleep, work, kids, and maybe a house project from time to time. But I'm fully aware of how awesome the kids are at this age... my son was told once (ONCE!) that a toy pirate was called a scallywag and so he goes around today narrating how the scallywag was fixing the pirate ship, and the 10 month old (been walking for a month btw, WTF) points at me and smiles when I come up from working, then she tries to play chase... meanwhile, and at the sacrifice of this sentence never ending, my 5 year old pretended to be a cat going to bed tonight, after drawing a very impressive picture for me earlier in the day. The good old days... exhausting beyond belief, but I'm enjoying it.
