The Biden administration proposes to curb or significantly regulate "junk fees," like the various fees tagged on by airlines, hotels/resorts, concert ticket sellers, banks and credit card companies, etc. for things that the customers typically don't want and aren't disclosed upfront. Of course these companies are fighting back, the WaPo article reports on these companies' opposition to the effort to crack down and regulate junk fees.
Apparently the move to curb junk fees is a very popular one, with many consumers submitting comments to the FTC supporting the move.

The fees will just be included in the ticket price
They will be hidden
Less transparent
That would make sense if they were real fees for real services, rather than invented line items on a bill meant to increase the bottom line price at the last second, above the advertised price.

I think it is like the discussion on the tickets that @89th was buying.
The average buyer just wants to know the total price they are paying. Honestly, for me, it does not matter what the fees are or who they are going to. I just want to know the ultimate price I am going to pay.
Getting a hotel room? What is my TOTAL price per night for the room. Dont care if part of that is a resort fee, internet fee, parking fee, etc. If it is a mandatory fee, tell me at the very very beginning and make it part of the total cost.
